Slow Cooked Three Beans And Sausage

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 lbs smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2/3 cup celery
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granule
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • hot cooked rice

Recipe

  • 1 in a 5-quart slow cooker, combine the first 12 ingredients.
  • 2 sprinkle with oregano and thyme if desired.
  • 3 cover and simmer on low for 4 to 4-1/2 hours or until heated through.
  • 4 discard bay leaf.
  • 5 serve with rice.
