Skillet Cornbread

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter (not margarine)
  • 1 cup half-and-half cream
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

Recipe

  • 1 mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • 2 scald the butter and cream then add to the dry ingredients.
  • 3 mix in the eggs.
  • 4 grease and flour a 9 or 10 inch cast iron skillet.
  • 5 bake at 350°f for 30 minutes.
