Ingredients

- 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sweet onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
- 3/4 lb velveeta cheese, cubed
Recipe
- 1 cook macaroni, according to the package directions.
- 2 meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- 3 add onion and saute over low heat for about 2 minutes.
- 4 stir in flour until smooth.
- 5 stir in salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- 6 gradually add cream; bring to a boil.
- 7 cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- 8 reduce heat.
- 9 stir in cheese until melted.
- 10 drain macaroni; add to cheese mixture.
- 11 cook and stir for 3-4 minutes or until heated through.
