Sherried Broccoli With Almonds

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs fresh broccoli
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons dry
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

Recipe

  • 1 cut broccoli into spears, removing tough lower stalks.
  • 2 wash well.
  • 3 cook in microwave until barely tender (2-3 minutes).
  • 4 place in baking dish.
  • 5 dissolve bullion in the 3/4 cup hot water.
  • 6 stir in half and half and set aside.
  • 7 melt butter in saucepan and blend in flour.
  • 8 stir until smooth.
  • 9 cook and stir 1 min.
  • 10 gradually stir in bullion mxiture.
  • 11 cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly.
  • 12 stir in lemon juice, and pepper.
  • 13 pour over broccoli.
  • 14 sprinkle with cheese and almonds.
  • 15 bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
