Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
- 3/4-1 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
- 1 melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. mix cocoa and sugar; stir into melted butter with wooden spoon. continue stirring over low heat until ingredients are well blended. beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; mix in vanilla. preheat oven to 350 degrees. combine flour, baking powder and salt. add to cocoa mixture and beat to mix thoroughly. stir in nuts. spread in 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. bake in oven for 30 minutes, or until top has a dull crust and slight imprint remains when lightly touched. do not overbake. cool and cut into squares. makes 32 squares.
