Sirloin Napoletana

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 2 lbs top sirloin steaks, sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 1/2 cup red
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil or 2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high flame. brown the steak strips on both sides. remove to a plate when browned.
  • 2 add 1 tbsp oil to pan. when shimmering, add onion and saute until deep golden brown, 12-15 minutes. add garlic and saute 1 minute or until fragrant.
  • 3 return beef to pan and add remaining ingredients. simmer over low heat until beef is cooked through, 10-15 minutes.
