Sirloin Napoletana

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 2 lbs top sirloin steaks, sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, with juice
- 1/2 cup red
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil or 2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
- salt, to taste
- ground black pepper, to taste
Recipe
- 1 in a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high flame. brown the steak strips on both sides. remove to a plate when browned.
- 2 add 1 tbsp oil to pan. when shimmering, add onion and saute until deep golden brown, 12-15 minutes. add garlic and saute 1 minute or until fragrant.
- 3 return beef to pan and add remaining ingredients. simmer over low heat until beef is cooked through, 10-15 minutes.
