Sloppy Joe Pizza Pockets

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 bell pepper, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 onion, coarsely chopped
- 1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 lb frozen pizza dough, thawed
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- salt
- pepper
Recipe
- 1 heat olive oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.
- 2 add bell pepper, onion, and pinch of salt and pepper.
- 3 cook, stirring occasionally, until softened. (about 5 mins).
- 4 add the turkey and cook over medium high heat until turkey is cooked through.
- 5 stir in the pizza sauce and worcestershire sauce.
- 6 season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 7 let cool completely.
- 8 preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- 9 lightly grease baking sheet with olive oil.
- 10 divide the dough into quarters.
- 11 roll out and stretch each piece into an 8 inch round.
- 12 place the rounds on the baking sheet, with about 1/3 hanging over the edges.
- 13 mound a packed cup of the turkey mixture each round leaving a 1/2 inch border.
- 14 top with cheese.
- 15 fold dough over the filling and crimp the edges together to seal.
- 16 cut a small vent in the top of each pocket for ventilation.
- 17 bake until puffed and golden (about 15-20 mins).
