Slovak Nut Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 55 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 30 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup crisco
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 fresh yeast cake
  • 5 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 lb ground nuts
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Recipe

  • 1 mix flour, salt, and soda.
  • 2 add egg yolks and sour cream to the flour mixture.
  • 3 cut the dough like pie dough.
  • 4 form the dough into four balls and refrigerate them over night.
  • 5 the next day, roll the dough with a rolling pin.
