Sloppy Tofu

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 1 lb lite firm tofu, patted dry,crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder (i know, it's a lot. scale back, if desired, but bread and veggies should cut the heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Recipe

  • 1 heat skillet over medium high.
  • 2 cook onion, pepper, and garlic until soft.
  • 3 add tofu and soy sauce.
  • 4 cook, stirring constantly until brown.
  • 5 add tomato sauce and seasonings.
  • 6 cook 2-3 more minutes to incorporate.
  • 7 serve over hamburger buns (i also saw mom using leftovers as a tortilla chip dip).
