Steamed Broccoli Italian Style

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 head broccoli (the smaller and more purple the buds, the better)
  • 1 fresh lemon
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 rinse the broccoli and trim off the very bottom of the thick stem. you can either steam the entire head whole or cut it up into florets.
  • 2 steam the broccoli (but don't over cook it).
  • 3 lay out on a platter.
  • 4 drizzle with lots of fresh lemon juice.
  • 5 drizzle with extra virgin olive oil to taste.
  • 6 (optional) add fresh minced garlic to taste.
  • 7 add salt and pepper to taste.
  • 8 this can be served either hot or room temperature.
