Southern Fried Okra

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 8 okra pods
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup oil

Recipe

  • 1 slice okra in 1/4-inch slices.
  • 2 wash in cold water.
  • 3 mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and pepper together.
  • 4 roll okra in cornmeal mix.
  • 5 fry in hot skillet for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 6 drain on paper towels or brown paper bags.
