Seared Flank Steak

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 pinch coarse sea salt
  • 1 1/2 lbs flank steaks
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 put a cast iron skillet on high heat. sprinkle coarse sea salt in the skillet. let the skillet heat up until the salt starts popping.
  • 2 put in the flank steak and sear for about 2 minutes, until it does not stick to the skillet anymore. turn over and sear for another 2 minutes. then, flip the steak every minute or so and continue searing until desired doneness is reached.
  • 3 remove steak from skillet, cover with a piece of aluminum foil, and let stand for 5 minutes.
  • 4 cut steak in strips or bite size pieces and season with salt, olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar. serve.
