Skillet Chicken N Gravy

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless & skinless
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon dried celery flakes
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 (1 ounce) packages chicken gravy mix
  • 2 cups cold water

Recipe

  • 1 cut each breast in half.
  • 2 melt butter in heavy skillet.
  • 3 add onions, peppers & celery to the skillet.
  • 4 saute on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • 5 add chicken pieces to the skillet.
  • 6 season with salt, pepper, sage & poultry seasoning.
  • 7 depending on the thickness of your breasts, you will want to saute the chicken for about 5 to 10 minutes on each side.
  • 8 whisk 2 cups cold water with the 2 packages of chicken gravy mix until smooth.
  • 9 add gravy mixture to the skillet when the chicken is half done.
  • 10 bring to a fast boil over medium high heat.
  • 11 reduce heat and simmer until chicken is done and gravy is desired thickness.
  • 12 serve with parsley rice.
