Sliced Orange Rice

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 medium sized oranges, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups long-grain basmati rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in a pan.
  • 2 stir-fry garlic and onion in it on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • 3 add rice and stir-fry for a minute.
  • 4 stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • 5 cover and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  • 6 fluff with a fork then turn off heat and re-cover and cook in its own steam for 30 minutes.
  • 7 place on a serving platter lined with sliced oranges.
  • 8 serve warm and enjoy!
