Sirloin Steak Monte Carlo

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 3/4 lbs sirloin steaks
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can contadina recipe ready italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 tablespoons capers
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Recipe
- 1 1. heat oil in medium skillet over medium-high heat. add steak; cook 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. remove steak to platter, reserving any drippings in skillet.
- 2 2. add onion, garlic and pine nuts to skillet; sauté 5 minutes or until onion is tender and nuts are lightly toasted.
- 3 3. add undrained tomatoes, capers, oregano, basil and red pepper flakes; simmer, uncovered 5 minutes. serve over steak.
