Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

- 2 lbs cooked ground beef
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 cups beef broth
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- salt and pepper
- 16 ounces frozen mixed vegetables
- 5 cups mashed potatoes
Recipe
- 1 saute onions and garlic in melted butter.
- 2 add flour. cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 3 add beef broth, whisk vigorously to combine. add tomato paste, worctesterchire sauce, oregano, salt and pepper. cook until thickened, stirring often.
- 4 add mixed veggies, reduce heat to simmer for another 5 minutes.
- 5 pour mixture into 9 by 13 pan.
- 6 top with mashed potatoes.
- 7 bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
