Seared Tuna With Tomatoes And Basil

Ingredients

- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 lbs tuna (cut into 1 inch cubes)
- 1 onion (chopped about 1 cup)
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes (about 2 cups)
- 1/2 cup dry white
- 3 sprigs fresh basil (chopped coarsely)
Recipe
- 1 in a 12 inch skillet, heat 1/1/2 tablespoons oil over medium-high heat.
- 2 season tuna generously with salt and pepper.
- 3 arrange half of tuna in a skillet in a single layer to prevent crowding.cook, turning once until golden brown on top and bottom, about 1 1/2 minutes on each side, 3 minutes total.

- 13 cook at a bare simmer until the sauce starts to thicken slightly, about 5 minutes more.
- 14 add basil to the skillet, and cook, stirring, until wilted.
- 15 season with salt and pepper.
- 16 spoon hot sauce over tuna before serving.
