Sunflower Seed Brittle

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 cup salted dry roasted sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar

Recipe

  • 1 butter a large baking sheet; set aside.
  • 2 melt butter in small saucepan.
  • 3 add seeds and salt and mix well.
  • 4 keep warm.
  • 5 melt sugar in heavy skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • 6 when sugar is golden brown, quickly stir in warm seeds.
  • 7 pour out onto baking sheet and spread with wooden spoon or spatula into 10" square.
  • 8 let cool until firm.
  • 9 break into pieces and store in air-tight container in a cool, dry place.
